The Landmark building

Occupying a prominent position in Frankston, Landmark Corporate Centre commands its corner location. Building on this, we looked to revitalise the building to define the idea of the 'landmark'. Focusing on the public lobbies throughout the three level atrium, lift lobbies and external fabric we devised a design methodology to position the building for the next decades.

"Long term success of any project requires the architecture to be timeless."

Creating a hub

Extending three levels, the central atrium space was envisaged as a central hub where floors and tenancies connect and interact. Redefining these circulation paths as lounges, meeting spaces and destination concepts allowed the usable floor area of the building to be fully utilised.

"A modern workplace provides spaces for people to work and interact in varied formats."

Proposing dark slatted ceilings and bronze clad balustrades acted to shift the bulk of the existing floors, bridges and beams over into the background and allow them to float over and be offset by the cool greys of the floor tiling and lift core.

Connection through language

Integral to the project success was full integration of the building design elements with consistent and thorough branding and associated collateral. The logo and work marks, as well as colour and material palette were created by Tectonic Design alongside the building Architecture. This ensured a co-ordinated language utilised throughout the project both internally and externally through wayfinding, signage and brand identification and collateral.
