Helping Redzed realise their growth through a brand new bespoke head office in Melbourne, Moda Design Group was engaged to envisage a space that balanced the raw aesthetic of the building and the warmth of a team hub.

Materialising a vision

Facilitating Redzed’s expansion to a full floor tenancy at 385 Bourke Street Melbourne we echoed their business model, that is, of not being the standard financial institution. As such we stopped the proposed make good to a warm shell and began the design process with a completely raw aesthetic.

"Working with the inherent fabric of a building breeds more success than fighting it."

The base building structure, services and finishes laid out a blueprint for the designs direction where any new interventions would minimise removal of the buildings character.

Step lightly interventions

Working from the buildings exposed qualities, our interventions into the space were designed to maintain as much of the existing as possible. Creating a juxtaposed and warmer collection of spaces. At the heart of this was the extensive use of OSB board, timber and select furnishings which provided a soft and 'step lightly' approach.

"Engaging materials and tactile experiences enhance the enjoyment of architecture."

Spatial arrangements

Work areas are divided into zones emphasising intimacy and ensuring maximum acoustic performance with focus rooms, curtained discussion spaces and high back booth seating. The breakout and social space are divided into three ‘moments’, each with a different purpose and feel, ranging from active to contemplative.

"Creating a space for everyone enhances engagement from all stake holders in a business's success."
